Jake's Journal

Please Hold.

Credit has to go to Jen for this one as she pointed the guys so that I could shoot it.

Our second day in Athens played out like your average lazy backpackers. After being rudely awoken by the hot morning sun we set out in search for coffee and pastry safe in the knowledge that we would see the Acropolis that afternoon. A must see if you go to Athens, right? Right.

Well we didn't see it. We followed loads of signs up the hill towards it but came to a fence. We were sweaty and sunburnt by this point. We headed back down in search of the main entrance. We found but it appeared you had to pay. Can't do that - no money. We saw it from a distance, we'll have to settle for that.

Other interesting things that happened that day; saw a guy injecting heroin into his foot and were, to our absolute horror, flashed by a creepy man in the Greek parliamentary gardens of all places. We also got free beer from a bar which then even out the day's other not so nice surprises.
