The long trek up north

Several weeks ago my colleague Acronymphomania asked me if I was free on 1st September and I said 'yes'.

Somehow this ended up with me accompanying him on a three day epic journey to Durness, the most North Westerley village in the UK.

We took a train from Edinburgh to Inverness and then hired a car to drive up North. The whole journey took about seven hours, but the weather was great and the scenery lovely. We stopped for lunch in Ullapool (pictured).

When we arrived we checked in to our extremely lovely hotel (Mackays) and then went for a walk on the beach before dinner.
