Old Customs

Took Andy swimming today. A sunny day when we went in, a monsoon when we came out. As we plucked up our courage to make a dash for it, I took a picture of the old Customs House.

This is one of those buildings that are rumoured to have been built back-to-front, because the grand side of it faces away from the town. But if you were designing a customs building for a port, wouldn't you want the imposing side facing the sea?

The two lines running down the middle of the shot are torrents of water rushing off the swimming pool roof.
