The cranes arrive - moving forwards hopefully!

St Luke's church has lost a lot of stone work at the peak of the gables. a crane has moved in to take the loose stone down, hopefully to be recycled back into the reconstruction of the church.

It is encouraging to see the city being a mass of expert people and their machinery trying to move forward to what still seems a rather uncertain future as the strong aftershocks continue - two of more than 5 on the Richter scale in the last 24 hours, as well as lots of smaller shocks. New narrow cracks opened in our street overnight, so there is still movement.
