Happy in pink

S and I were watching this show tonight on the Travel channel hosted by Vir Sanghvi where he sets out to find India's best Biryani. He starts off at Delhi, at the famed Karim's in the old city. Not satisfied with how the dish has dwindled down from being a royal delicacy to almost regular street food, he makes his way to Lucknow where it gets better. Finally he reaches Hyderabad where he finds the best version of this traditional dish introduced by the Mughals. He ends in Delhi though, at the Sheraton tasting the modern version of the dish. Well, all the food analysis aside, it was the most mouth-watering show and timed just before dinner, made us all the more hungry.

We had already planned to make a dish using paneer and inspired by all the food we were looking at, albeit in a two dimensional space, we decided to improvise a bit. It turned out really well in the end and will surely be remembered.
