The Old Vinery

While I was a Police Cadet in 1973 I was sent on a National Trust Acorn Camp on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, Dorset. The team that I worked with was given the task of clearing the undergrowth from an old vinery and then demolishing the brickwork. After a weeks hard work, when we left the island there was still plenty to be done. Today I returned to Brownsea Island. I was amazed to find the remains of the vinery still standing almost as I had left them 37 years ago.
