Final Rhino

The exhibition of rhinos finishes on 12 Sept so I had a few days left to capture the last one. It was a beautiful sunny evening as I set out for the racecourse where this rhino stands outside Restaurant 1539. So named because that was the year that first year that racing took place in Chester.

The rhinos will all be removed then about 50 of them will come together to be auctioned off. They have created a lot of interest around the city and they have been great for me on slow blip days. We will miss them.

As a follow up to yesterday's blip news - I know that a lot of you will eagerly be awaiting this news - Chester FC recorded a magnificent 6 - 0 victory in their first game at home as a newly reformed club. The attendance was a mighty 2800 which must be almost unheard of at this level of football. At half time a new 5 year ground naming sponsorship deal was announced with locally based company Exacta. So instead of playing at the Deva Stadium - Deva is the Roman name for Chester - we now play at the Exacta stadium. This will bring in much needed income to help swell the coffers.
