Space Man

Went to the Techfest opening event at the Beach Ballroom tonight.

The speaker was Duane "Digger" Carey who has been a fighter pilot, a test pilot, and also an astronaut.

Digger piloted the space shuttle on the mission to upgrade the Hubble telescope.

His talk was informative, amusing and, especially for the younger members of the audience, inspiring.

Hopefully he may have inspired a few of the kids to become scientists or engineers. After all, Scotland has a strong track record in those fields.
