Fungii

We were up very early this morning (for a Sunday). As our youngest was out on a sleepover, and with our 14 yr old still in bed, a walk in the drizzle seemed like a good idea.

We headed up to Hartshead Pike, watching a small rainbow dissipate in the low cloud. The Pike itself, was not visible at all due to the drizzle and low cloud. We passed the usual suspects on our hike to the top; rabbits and grouse. Instead of turning back at the top, we walked on toward Mossley, and our efforts were rewarded by a stunning view towards Manchester, illuminated by some sparse sunshine.

We walked down lanes we hadn't travelled before, and two hours later we were back home.

On our way back, we passed through a local nature reserve, and my husband spotted this little fungii forest.
