We went to a very special birthday party tonight - our dear friends whose little daughter turned three. She was adopted by them just over a year ago and it seems quite the journey we have travelled over the last year as we all make her part of our lives.

Enjoying the last of the day's sun we sat outside and BQQ and drank and chatted and of course watched our children and the buzz of life that they radiate.

I took the photos but it was this one (although there are so many lovely captures of our night) that I liked - he was standing observing and the sun was just settling down over him and he looked wonderful...
