Faculty Par-tay

This afternoon was the annual faculty meeting/soiree to kick off the academic year.

They make it really nice... it almost feels like a wedding reception, only without the cake (drats)! There's live music and free booze (not that I can partake, but still) and appetizers. Mostly it's a chance to get to chat with people in the department/around campus I don't get to see very often.

AND I don't have to attend the faculty meeting full of speeches that comes just before it, so I get the best of both worlds. :)
