Oh no!, Oh yes....

Well, this morning just after the start up of unit EC 5 a tremendous noise was heard in the bolierroom.
The stuffing box of the main feedwatervalve was completely blown out and the water (at high pressure and a temperature of about 300 deg C) immediately turned into steam on coming out..
It happened before but this time it was worse because the shift before us could not approach the valve to turn it further open and press it against the so-called "back seat".

When we came on duty the unit was stopped and after we could drop the pressure we could minimize the leak of steam and water but the man who did it became soaking wet....
Not a good picture but a bit spooky..
