Ghibli

Today's main event was the Ghibli Studios animation museum in Mitaka. As expected photography wassn't allowed, so you'll just have to make do with this crumby picture of the sign outside.

Inside, however, was fantastic. Rooms and rooms of concept art, models, cells, studio mock-ups, film clips, zoetropes, and a 15 minute movie short. I was highly disappointed that the catbus play area was reserved for kindergarten and under, but managed to prevent consoling myself in the gift shop and avoided spending 40,000 yen on a Howl's Moving Castle miniature (it had moving parts!!).

Then it was back into Shibuya and Krispy-kreme. Cartoons and donuts - the modern Japanese experience.
