Evening Light in Spring

Down at the Ashley River, North Canterbury, New Zealand its Spring. The early evening sun was caught on the fresh green leaves of the trees and was dispersed amongst the wild grasses.
The braided river was quietly rippling over stones as it makes its way out to sea and the clouds hugged the mountain range. A wild rabbit was darting around and birds were making their last calls.
Although this sounds like a great place to be the wind was strong and bitter, I feel Winter is still lingering.

We've had so many aftershocks in the last 24 hours some quite strong, really hoping the earth stops moving so we can all get some decent sleep. People are starting to get back to normality, businesses are opening but the devastation is huge - it will take many months, years to renew - new beginnings for Christchurch city and the surrounding areas.

Friday night here and Friday morning for some of you - have a great weekend :)
