The Local Hero

The local hero is of course Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson, of Burnham Thorpe in Norfolk.

Victor of the Nile, Copenhagen and Trafalgar, Nelson is still seen as Norfolk's local hero across the county and indeed the road signs crossing the "border" proclaim that you are entering Nelson's County.
