Birthday cake saved!

Long days at work for me and my husband, so a late birthday tea for our now-11-year-old boy which ended with an attempt to eat an enormous chocolate-strawberry jam-cream victoria sponge cake (I'd forgotten there would only be four of us to eat it!). Sitting on the shelf in the fridge, it reminded me of Michael Rosen's wonderful story about his midnight raid on the larder in 'Quick, let's get out of here'.
