Winter wasp

This little creature was sitting on my bathroom window pane this morning, outside, I hasten to add, for several hours, but as it was freezing fog outside, I don't suppose he could move away.
I nearly posted a pic of my dog, Heidi, playing on the field in the white misty morning, but the wasp won!
