Marrakesh - Baking

When we arrived at the Riad we were served the ubiquitous mint tea with a selection of baked pastries. They were, the owner explained, from the shop just at the entrance to the maze of tunnels that lead to the Riad. He likes them particularly as they are not sickly sweet.

We purchased some to bring home. They are simply superb, really, really fresh tasting, each shape has a different mixture of nuts or fruits inside and a touch of rose water. I just wish you could taste them.

We need to eat them within a week of them being made - what a shame!

If this entices you, catch up with my previous Moroccan blips
