Duddon Sunset

Looking across the Duddon Estuary towards Millom from Kirkby Moor.

To the left you can see the Haverigg Wind Farm which is next to Haverigg Open Prison.

Beyond that are the Northern reaches of Morecambe Bay.

It is reputed the tide advances across Morecambe Bay faster than a galloping horse!

I don't know about that, but it certainly moves very quickly.

The dark skyline to the right is the lower slopes of Black Combe. (Prn. koom.)

The high point in the range of hills just visible in the distance is, in fact, Snaefell on the Isle of Man, some 84Km (52.5 Miles) away.
