La vida de Annie

AGM

You may think it's all sun, sea and sangria (and any other S's that tickle your fancy), but this is the reality of spending time in Menorca in Autumn. What a shame, I hear the cry....

This was the scene at the Residents' Association AGM, the excuse reason I'm out here at this time. This year it was held on an outdoor terrace at a rather posh restaurant, and it was quite soothing listening to the breaking waves on the beach below, and the splashing of rain onto the tables not quite under the roof thatch. I was much more occupied with trying to get sneaky shots of the rain than with attending to the rivetting discussion of agendas, repairs, regulations and community charges. The newly-elected president was refreshingly brief (just the two hours this year) and broke up most meandering speeches with the phrase "we could discuss this all day - now, any other business?".

Afterwards I spent 20 minutes watching the restaurant's pet snake ingest a live mouse (note to self - must chew my food more), and then wandered about taking close-ups of vibrant-flowers-with-water-droplets shots, none of which will see the light of day; moment of weakness, I'll be blipping kittens and babies next.

After a day of rain of Biblical proportions (to quote a comment-free blipper), the sun finally made an appearance just before it went down. Night everyone.
