Carnival!

It was Frome's carnival this evening! The crowds were good but the procession was very short and not that sweet, with only a few big floats.

The carnival heyday was back in the 1970s, when one of the highlights was the Katchem Kwik Kops but they were banned on health and safety grounds long before that phrase came into everyday misuse.

PS I realised afterwards that, although I'd cropped this to remove the light at the top, I'd uploaded the uncropped version. Sigh.
