Under the bridge

Today's the day ................... to visit Worcester

Moored up overnight in the historic city of Worcester. This picture was taken as we went under a bridge near to where the city walls had been. It was close to this spot that the Sidbury Gate was stormed by the Parliamentary Troops on 3rd September 1651 - in what was to be the last battle of the English Civil War.

Had a walk round and peeked into the magnificent Cathedral where the echoing sounds of Evensong singing had just begun. It was a really lovely place to be, full of interesting things to look at. Shame we were there for such a short time ............
