Banana Slug

This is a banana slug (so called, because they are tube-shaped, yellowish, and have brown spots, like an over-ripe banana). No one likes to see a slug munching away in their veggie garden (though, somehow shells make snails cute). Apparently, the banana slugs (which are found in certain forests on the west coast) are becoming fewer and fewer (it's unlikely that you would see one of these in your garden). It was neat to watch him make a slow progression across the forest floor. He was quite the performer, boldly sticking out his antennae and stretching out for best appearance.
