Big smiles

You can tell that I'm having a whale of a time on the ferry from Wellington, North Island, to Picton, South Island, New Zealand. There we caught the train to Christchurch, but we had half an hour to kill between ferry and train so Fred spoke to the pilot of a seaplane that we'd watched land when the ferry pulled in. We jumped in the plane and had a 20-minute trip above Picton and the Cook Strait - amazing!

The train down the South Island east coast was wonderful. We stood in the open-air carriage drinking tea and eating Anzac biscuits, watching the beaches, deer, sea and farmland rush by.

Then Christchurch on St Patrick's Day - Guinness in an Irish bar, then live music in a small bar near the hotel.
