Raleigh International Festival

The Raleigh International Festival is a wonderful place to which to take a camera. One of the main features of the festival is a stage where dancers representing the many ethnicities of the Triangle area present dances from their native lands.

This dancer is performing the Cendrawasih bird dance., This Bali dance depicts the courtship of a bird of paradise in the mating season. Cendrawasih, also called "The Dancing Bird", lives in the hinter land of West Irian (Indonesia) and is well known to the people because of his beautiful rainbow colored feathers.
