Day started with the announcement that it was -9 on the other side of the window, i pulled my blanket even further to my ears, but it gave only 10 extra minutes in bed. after second check, we realised that it was only -0.9 which was considered a warm enough day for a walk. subzero temperature stays for a week or so, but when we came up to the pond by the New Virgine Convent, I was astoshined by sight of the first ice and by the fact of how quickly it covered the pond almost completely. There is still a lot of grass, there is no ice on the river, but the pond is already under 3-4 cm of ice sheet. These ducks will fight for this tiny openning of water for the next 4-5 months, there is plenty of feed for them from the houses in the neighbourhood and visitors, they'll be fine.
