Make Change

Busy in the house, didn't get out.

This coin changer dates back to my fourth grade paper route days. That would be 1954. I believe the weekly rate for home delivery (six days, no Sunday edition) was $0.25. Sometimes I'd get a nickel tip. It was a small paper, four to six pages. I had 80 to 90 customers and it would take me about 40 minutes on my bike to deliver. First i had to roll each paper into a cylinder an put a rubber band around it, then stuff them all into my shoulder bag. If it was an eight page edition all us carriers moaned over the extra bulk.
