Me, Myself and Catherine

I am Cow

A peaceable bunch of cows on an autumnal afternoon, gilded by the low yellow sun, cudding and mellow. I came across them, walking near Clapham on the Trow Gill path.
A change from the nervously maternal beasts of the spring, with young calves at foot, jumpy and intimidating.
These weren't even bothered about the dogs being with me. We stood companionably for a time, warm on the sheltered fellside among stunted trees.
