KAYAK

The first kayaks were constructed from stitched seal or other animal skins stretched over a wooden frame (made from driftwood, since many of their habitats were treeless). Kayaks are at least 4,000 years old.

Did not know that fact. A group of friends kayaked on the Cape Fear River in NC. The day was windy and the currents pushed us around and made us work harder. Beautiful blue sky and everyone liked the trip. Then out to lunch sitting outside on the pier of the restaurant.
