Boat wardens

Here we see the boating lake, and the wardens on charge. The seagulls are the workers - they keep the boats clean and sort out problems. The herons cormorants will gladly take your money and let you scull around the lake for a while. The geese - out of shot, are the enforcers, they will come and hunt you down if you overrun your time. The mallards - well - I haven't figured out their job, but they get nice uniforms.

So I went for a walk around the local lake at lunchtime, camera in hand. Felt like a proper photographer, you know one of those people who can really do stuff. Eyeing up the view, composing the shot, fiddling with apertures and ISO numbers, like everyone else here (because I know I don't have the patience or eye for this most of the time).

I took a few photos, and then went back to work. Now I come to look at them, they all seem complete rubbish, and there is nothing worth blipping.

So there. You have to put up with a collection of boats in the middle of the lake, with the waterfowl keeping guard over them.

Some days - that's how it goes.

It looks slightly better LARGE.
