Death In The Afternoon (or, A Light Lunch)

I'd just parked in the alley behind the store in downtown Pittsburgh and turned around at exactly the moment that predator landed on prey. It looked huge, wings fully spread up and backwards. Momentarily stunned it took a while to find my camera and grab a shot, by which time it was all over - for the pigeon at least.

I guess this is one of the peregrine falcons that nests in the Gulf Tower, where it is monitored via this webcam, which may or may not be working at the moment
