The world

I have learned so much about flowers this first year of taking pictures.

I have learned that they harbour so much life, not just the occasional bee, but hoverflies, earwigs, spiders and ants hiding behind petals, feeding on pollen and knitting the fabric of life together.

This tiny ant made its rounds early this morning. It didn't know that winter is coming soon. It didn't know that its world is a very small an insignificant flower. It didn't know that I was watching less than a foot away.

After it disappeared I sat silently for a while, absorbing the privilege of observing its world.

I am looking forward to a three day weekend! Thanksgiving!
