penny arcade

Today wasn`t a good day to go to Leicester due to 2 demonstrations taking place so we decided to go to Wellsbourne market
For those of you who don`t know about it, it`s a Saturday open air market which takes place by the airfield. It`s huge, sells anything and everything, food, clothes, housewares, furniture,plants,electricals....
After a few hours spending his money I had had enough so we left and made our way to Harbury to see some friends
When we arrived, Gill said there was a Victorian street fair on in the village and did we want to go, so off we went.
It was lovely to see the residents of the village out in their costumes, selling no end of homemade goods, had to buy some pickles, jam and chutney and then Chris spotted this stall with about a dozen or so of the old Victorian penny arcade machines, all in full working order and the owner was selling pots of 20 old pennies for a quid......I`m sure there used to be 24 old pennies to the £, but never mind, if you where lucky, they paid out but I wasn`t.
Back to Gill and Johns` for a very nice Indian takeaway and then home
