Sunset over Lismore

I spent the afternoon on the island of Lismore, visiting the Heritage Centre and meeting a variety of people along with one of the local Councillors, Donald MacDonald , his wife Dot, my wife Cathleen and a friend, Fiona Hamilton. We left on the last ferry at 6.15 just as the sun was setting behind the hills. This is the island at that moment , at the beginning of a beautiful ferry journey back to Oban as dusk settled over the islands of Loch Linnhe and beyond the Sound of Mull. A magical trip - the west coast of Scotland at its very best during the briefest of Indian summers . For as the light faded, the chill of autumn made itself felt.
