Burdock grows along the paths and roads in the gutter and on fields that are neglected, uncultivated land with a variety of hedges and along forest edges, along the embankments of rivers and streams.
Burdock grows as a biennial plant to a height of 80cm. up to 120cm. In the first year grow large ground-leaves that are heart-shaped and the large petioles are. The second-year stems upright well-branched stems with leaves that are less and less towards the top, the tops grow flower heads which are many, and when in bloom scarlet red in color. Flower heads have a small pin that hooks up to receive clothing and animal fur and hair. Burdock root is spindle-shaped and long.
Thistle blooms from July to September.
