Our Resident Snake

I was busy in the basement again this afternoon while C was working in the backyard. At one point she came inside and asked if I had my blip yet. When I said that I didn't, she took me outside and showed me this handsome, languorous garter snake curled around a low branch. I had plenty of time to get my camera from upstairs and take a dozen photos before it got bored and moved out of view. I'm glad I have a wife who is not afraid of snakes and spiders.

Now I know why I haven't seen so many slugs lately.
