big boys toys

We don't live very far from the small nelson airport. Its not big enough for proper jet planes (which is great for noise reasons) instead its generally used by Q300 turboprop planes.

Once in a while I hear a jet engine running up, and after a moment realize, hang on, Nelson doesn't have any proper jet planes, and go out for a look.

This is the same ex military jet of some sort that I have seen on previous occasions, and today I was ready with the camera (the only time I wished for a 400mm VR lens...)

I am very envious, whomever owns this is one lucky bastard!

I didn't notice the heat trail till I viewed it on my screen.
