"I miss you Mummy"

Sienna last night said to me as I got her ready for bed - "I miss you Mummy, when I am not there." I tried to understand what she meant - "While I am at work and you are at nursery?" I asked.

"Well yes then too Mummy, but when I am not in the pictures, I miss you then."

I didn't really understand until this morning when on our way downstairs she pointed to this photo on the wall and said.

"There, that is when I miss you, when I am not there."

She is right - this is a photo on holiday in France - 18 months before she was born but yet there I am with her brothers and sisters.

She feels like she is missing and I guess she was...
