Intimacy Amidst Concrete

On the way to my physics class at the University of Massachusetts today, I was struck by this couple eating their lunch on the huge plaza in front of the campus center. They are leaning against one of the blocks in the right center of this blip from a few days ago, avoiding the seating area available to the right in that shot. It was about 60 degrees F (15 C). The window on the right reflects a cheerier aspect of the campus--the fall color has intensified since the earlier shot. View it LARGE.

Does this prove that people can adapt to even inhospitable environments? I'd be curious how other blippers would interpret this.

Today's lecture was fascinating--a detailed discussion of f/stops and depth of field. I'll try to do a blip in the next day or two on this topic. (This link gives more information on the class.)
