Great White Egret in Flight

Still practicing with the new 300mm lens - this time with a 1.7TC attached giving me 500mm reach!

So far the results are pretty good - still reasonably sharp with the 1.7TC though AF is slower - I will have to practice my manual focusing skills :)

I love the arc formed by the wings in this view and the full expanse of one wing being backlit - you can even see the bone structure in the wing - very cool!

I had another shot for consideration today - you can see it here but I thought the one I posted is more dramatic.
