Flea Market Treasure

My daughter spotted this "Teleater" opera glass from Carl Zeiss, Jena/Germany, at a flea market in her lunch brake. Of course she had to buy it! Made of brass and mother-of-pearl and still working - it wasn't a question of money.

I found out that this kind of glass was manufactured between the years 1909 and 1931.

She said her boss showed signs of envy when she showed it to him after lunch.

She is in her 2nd year of apprenticeship to become an optician, so this was really an interesting subject for her (and her boss!). And for me, too.
