Let Me Take You Under My Wing

The whole day photoshooting in Harakka-isle in Helsinki with our nature photography class. It was freezing cold with occasional snow but very nice excursion.
Harakka-island (about 8 hectares/2,4 acres wide) was closed isle until 1989, before that it was property of Finnish Defence Forces. The plant kingdom is very wide in this small island, about 320 different plants, many of them have arrived here by human help. Many waterbirds can be found in Harakka, there's a population of almost 200 Barnacle Geese living in this small isle.
Today we saw 6 Mute Swans, this is one of the young ones.

Please, view him LARGE.

See the runner up, another Youngster.

Helsinki Blippers, please notice the Pikkujoulu Blipmeet at 29.10.!
