'Lost 70's Swingpark'

Here is a 70's chute in it's full gairish, rusty, tarmac based glory! We were out for a family sunday morning walk to somewhere we'd never been before. Suddenly, as we were walking; through the trees, there was a huge field. We walked into the field which over-looked Glasgow and there in pretty much, the middle of nowhere was a play park straight out of the 70's.

It was all useable, but very rusty and more worrying, it was placed on rock hard, jagged tarmac. Just like it was when we were kids. Lethal for little people to fall on.

All that said - I am all for kids doing kid things. Long live conker season, jumping off swings when they are high, running without shoes on, climbing trees, playing swordfights with sticks, throwing cans and stones at inanimate objects, walking to school on there own and staying out all day building dens at the weekends!!!

This blip is in memory of my school pal Anthea Rennison, who died aged eight after falling from a swing in the 70's.
