Croatia Day 1: View from a Plane

Finally backblipping my croatia photos;

Coming over on the plane being greeted by this view I knew it was going to be a beautiful holiday. Unfortunately my ears were killing me from the pressure change :s

When we finally landed we made our way out of the airport and found the first bus into Split we could find. It took us along the coast and not through the nicest part.

We were dropped off at the waterfront. We then went straight to a tourist office to find out what to do in Split and also where we could get a bus to our out-of-town hostel we had booked for the night.

We wandered around the Old Town but, being a Sunday, there was nothing open, like museums or other inside tourist attractions so we just looked.

We soon decided, with our heavy packs, it was time to go to our hostel so we went and caught the bus; all we knew was the bus number, the name of the place (which wasn't sign-posted) and roughly how long it took.

The driver of the bus wasn't at all helpful and at every stop I had to keep asking if it had been yet.

We, somehow, found the hostel and it was awesome! Nice room with ensuite and out of town enough that the surroundings were good. Down by reception there was a concrete front onto the sea where I swam in the very cold Adriatic.

The very welcoming hostel owners ordered a pizza for us after we had walked to the nearest town and found nothing veggie friendly for Corky.

Then came the kittens! So many of them! I can't describe how much fun we had with them.
