Stone angel

This is on a gravestone in the graveyard by Kirkwall cathedral.

The weather was such that I didn't go for a proper walk. Snow is on the hills of Evie and Rendall, but the heavy showers are of just rain.

I went into the museum to see the Orkney Venus... a tiny stone figure unearthed on the isle of Westray in 2009. It, or she, is about 5000 years old, the oldest human representation ever found in Scotland. Actually, I suppose she is 5001 now.

Carrying the small camera is good...it keeps your eye in.
