Setting up first home

Truly it is in giving that we receive?
How can you begin to describe the sheer joy and happiness of giving to someone who literally has nothing to call her own? Joyce and her 15yr old son Boyd, (who recently qualified for a place in Lukalazi Secondary school,) are living in a Wells for Zoe house built for them at the farm in Lusangazi. Joyce has had to borrow a cooking pot each day and both she and Boyd have been sleeping on the concrete floor on thin blankets.
Mary, Charity and I arrived out to visit Joyce earlier this evening, bearing gifts of utensils, cutlery, basins, buckets, pots, baskets, warm blankets, a paraffin lamp and a radio. But here is the best bit. ALL the women crowded into the tiny house, many with babies on their backs and proceeded to sing and dance for joy at seeing their friend Joyce, teary eyed and overwhelmed, receiving such bounty! Their singing and dancing lifted the roof of her humble dwelling as they shared joyfully in their friend?s good fortune.
For Joyce, a hardworking single mother supporting herself and her son by working on the farm, her time has truly come. She can hold up her head with pride, invite people into her home and look forward to a brighter future?
