Autumn Almanac

We've had a lovely day today. A nice long lie, a good read and a lazy breakfast

The Family Blogs popped over on their bikes to help in the annual apple harvest. Our neighbour had a very productive tree just next to our garden but she never picks or even wants them, so each year we benefit with a bumper harvest for a few days work

I see lots of fruit trees in the city which are heavily laden with fruit but never get picked. Why is that?. Maybe everyone feels that they've got too much money . Who knows - another little mystery of life.

We need a community based movement to collect and distribute this bounty

So now the kitchen is full of the smells of autumn. Apples are being packed away for the winter and apple sauce is slowly cooking on the stove.

Apple pie for afters tonight. Delish!
