The Edge of the Wold

Gummers How

A beautiful autumnal day, a keen frost in the early morning following a full moon night of clear skies. In the afternoon we walked up Gummers How, one of the best and most popular view points in the southern Lake District. There are spectacular views of Lake Windermere and much of the Lake District mountains, see link.

But this blip features Wifie at the top of the hill as the sun was going down. This is the first proper walk we have had together since before we went to Spain's Picos de Europa in June last year. This is a giant leap forward for Wifie, and a special moment for both of us.

There was no-one else there when we reached the trig point, only ravens croaking and sailing on the light breeze.
