And there in the mud I found...

..this.

This is a small clay pipe with a broken stem.
The stamp on one side reads 'D.Arnot' and on the other side it reads 'THE WORKMAN'
I found this one day 6 or 7 years ago at about 30 metres underwater in loch long whilst SCUBA diving. A piece of the stem was poking out of the mud, and somehow caught my attention, i grabbed it, stuck it in a pocket on my dry suit and took it back to the surface.

From what i've managed to find out D. Arnott was was listed as a pipemaker between 1896-1897 at 14 Market Street, Greenock. That would make this pipe over a hundred years old
