Building Elements Number 1......Drainage

.....I think I need an occasional series bubbling away in the blipbank for days like today (wet, windy and cold)..... stuff on the doorstep, or even better, INSIDE the doorstep. This one only took a 20 yard walk down the road and a very strange look from a neighbour (actually she still looked a bit bemused when I explained what I was doing, she obviously thought I'd completely lost the plot!)

The lettering on the cover stands for Whitley and Monkseaton Urban District Council by the way.....an administrative area now long gone, but the drain cover remains almost a century later....makes you think....
